It has a planning stage, where the user is given advice on the pacing of their story, the degree of suspense to maintain, and the amount of time they might use for each element of their story. The user is also given advice on the characters they should create, and the software prompts the user to develop them in as much detail as possible. The user is also given advice on the locations they should create, and the software prompts the user to build up background knowledge and to write more descriptively. The user is also given features extracts from a book by Jane Wenham-Jones, which includes advice on how to write a novel, how to develop characters, and how to create locations. The user is also required to have a PC with a Pentium II or equivalent CPU, 20MB of hard drive space, 64MB of memory, a graphics card with 800x600x16bit color graphics, and an audio card with 100% DirectX compatible sound. The user is also required to have a printer, and the user is required to have an internet connection.
